Big Nice Studio is looking to hire freelance tracking engineers. Our mission is to work with artists who want to experience a comfortable and unpretentious approach to recording combined with the experience and equipment of a high end professional studio. We strive to provide affordable and accessible rates for projects of all shapes and sizes. We value the culture of community and creativity we’ve fostered here over the past six years, and hope to bring aboard an engineer who can contribute to our continued growth.
As a freelance engineer, you will be assigned full day tracking sessions from our existing clients. In addition, you will be given the opportunity to bring in your own work and book out studio time.
You will be trained on our unique approach to record making and will be expected to offer excellent service and an unforgettable experience for our artists. Training will include an overview of our signal flow, gear, and equipment.
Qualifications:
2+ years experience with Pro Tools
2+ years running full band recording sessions
Excited, curious, humble, innovative
Responsible, professional, punctual, alert, self-motivated
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to lift heavy equipment (30+ lbs)
Have a valid license, access to a vehicle, and live within an hour drive of the studio
Flexible schedule with both weekend and weekday availability
3 years experience in a professional recording studio environment or equivalent preferred
Proficient and experienced musician preferred
Familiarity with the Big Nice brand and musicians we work with preferred
Duties include:
Engineer and mix recording sessions for a variety of genres
Establish organized and efficient Pro Tools sessions
Maintain recording equipment
Keep all areas of the studio clean and organized
Maintain organized data management and file handling
Have a positive and enthusiastic attitude around clients and coworkers
